Canyon Ferry Lake is located in central Montana east of Highway 12-287 between Helena and Townsend. It is a reservoir on the Missouri River system. It covers 35,000 acres and it's maximum depth is 160 feet at the north end. The primary fish species in Canyon Ferry are rainbow trout and perch. The lake also holds some brown trout, ling, walleye and smallmouth bass.
